A Combat Army Veteran and I went in for breakfast, and waited to get coffee, after the 20 minute wait, We got up and left, there was a total of 9 people waiting, We went to another location.

Food was a good. They need to update the interior and clean it up a little bit but all in all was fine

Their homemade soup is delicious! I ordered the chicken, very good. I wouldn't order the steaks though. My son ordered a steak and he didn't like it. My husband ordered the gyro dinner. Came with no fries and not enough meat. Friendly atmosphere though. Nice waitress.

When you order in, it takes like 20 minutes to get a drink or refill on your drink. Ordering out isnt much better. Used to have good food at a great price but now they keep raising prices, and giving smaller portion sizes. Paid 2.50 for a half filled container of cottage cheese. They charge you for each to go container now too. They don't take cards, which is a hassle most of the time. And they've moved the register away from the phone, so now it takes forever to get a price over the phone. Get a card reader, get a cordless phone, and lower your prices. The only reason you're still in business is because Maria's doesnt open until 4PM.

Awesome place to eat. The food was delicious and hot. Would recommend it to anyone

Great restaurant.

There was no one in the restaurant and they sat us at a table underneath a dripping vent. The vent dripped water all over the table and into our food and drinks..we changed tables and they did replace our drinks but why sit us there in the first place..food took a long to arrive and fish was over cooked.. I would not go back

Horrible service- too slow!! Constant arguing between server and cook! I ordered wings for my kids 10 minutes later, sorry we are out of wings. Ordered hamburger for my kids 10 minutes later oh they found wings (WHAT!!!) Pizza i ordered was different but decent(sauce needs more flavor and you will have people going here just for pizza. Ordered a side of fries, well I received a mini baby order of fries. Two stars because the pizza was unique and the crust was thin and flaky and the beef sausage they used on the pizza was good. I am from Chicago so when i go to Woodhaven for the weekend I crave for a good pizza!! (more flavor on sauce)

Food was good enough but extremely slow. There were only 6 people in the place we waited 40 minutes for food. The staff can be friendly, but there is one waitress who comes off as very unfriendly.

Have to just say this. When I am in another state, I go by reviews to choose where I stay/eat/visit....sorry to say I will not be trying this place. That's right I haven't even been there, but I'm not willing to chance it. If the reviews don't give this place justice then I suggest the owner try a change...or 2. Just speaking from someone who travels alot.

I was hesitant to go here because of the reviews but our waitress was amazing!!! Super sweet, very helpful, and my coffee cup was never empty!!! Plus our food was superb!! She was so good with our two daughters as well!!! We will definitely go back!! Prices were very reasonable as well 😊

First time here, and I'd never heard of a "Beef Roll." I ordered the Steak Roll and it was delicious! Wished it included sides, but ended up bringing home half of it. Service was really good and very friendly. Menu is WAAAAAY too big. Need to cut it by about 2/3 to be more successful.

Went There Today waited a hour and half for our food we got soup with our meals but the surfer came back to the table to tell us they were out of soup so I asked if we could all get salad than cause it came with the meal she said we would have to pay more we did get it though then we asked for silver wear she said they had to roll them we ended up grabbing them for 3 other tables cause she wouldn't give us any the food finally got there and the steak sandwich was asked for medium well wasn't ever made raw the meat was still frozen in middle we confronted the surver cause she wouldn't come over to us all she could say was our bill was taken care of didn't ask if we wanted it cooked rest of way we left called health department showed them pictures ect they are investigating now won't let me put pictures in reviews b

Huge menu, low prices and a friendly staff make the Amboy Family Restaurant a favorite. Their senior menu fried chicken can't be beat. Just remember that they are a cash only establishment - ATM on site.

Very good food and coffee, good spot for meetings or take out!

The location of the restaurant is Main Street and Jones south side of the street. The directions they have here shows the restaurant at 52 and Main Street which is incorrect. 52 and Main Street is now Amboy Foods grocery store and they have the whole corner there now. If you're coming in town off of Route 52 you go all the way through the first block the restaurant will be the last building on the right hand side on Main Street. Amboy Family Restaurant highly recommended as a good place to eat food.

After twenty minute wait you finally got coffee. After another 20-minute waitwe were told her order would be another 45 minutes. Seems most nearby campers headed out towards a restaurant to eat in light of the rain in the morning. Nevertheless, a place next to lots of campers should account for and anticipate weather and get more help to accommodate the crowds. The waitress however was very kind and patient throughout the process.

How can they take your order and Tell me my pizza will be ready in 45 when I get there waitress tell's me the owner forgot to make your food I told my kids and wife I'm sorry we are not going to have there favorite pizza today

Good stores for shopping that sell prices are fantastic. Prices are a little high the most stores. Store is family-owned and locally owned

One of the most horrible meals we've ever had!!My burger was dry and my bun was stale.My wife's sandwich had less flavor than the water.After an hour wait and our food going to the wrong table.Should have went to Marias.Steves restaurant gets worse each time.This will be our last visit.Used to be good even during depot days.Now it's pathetic😥Had to give at least one star to post review...would love to take it back.FYI....If your over head light holds four bulbs,put four in.Almost needed a flashlight to read menu.

We stopped in to try their pizza. It was very good! We had an extra large sausage with onions and bell peppers. The flavor was very good. I would buy their pizza again! But let me say this. Extra large in Amboy, Il is not the same as extra large in Chicago or New York.
